Our orthodontics office has the latest technological tools for your teeth. Our examination and clinical areas are chock full of the best orthodontic equipment as well as fun entertaining things like TVs mounted in the ceiling above the chairs so you can watch while reclining.
Our panoramic dental x-ray machine uses a very small dose of ionizing radiation to capture the entire mouth in one image. It gives our orthodontics office a two-dimensional (2-D) dental x-ray of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, and surrounding structures and tissues.
The panoramic x-ray machine is different from the traditional dental x-rays where the film is placed inside of the mouth and the x-ray pointed at it. The film for a panoramic x-ray is inside of the machine. And it depicts the curved jaw in one flat image instead of using multiple images of various sections of tooth and jaw like traditional x-rays.
A panoramic x-ray is a common orthodontic diagnostic tool. It covers a wider area than a conventional dental multi-image x-ray examination. So, it is more useful in diagnosing problems with sinuses, tooth position, and bone abnormality. It is a critical part of developing your personalized orthodontic treatment plan.
3-D i-CAT X-Ray Imaging
Our 3-D i-CAT X-Ray imaging machine let’s us see all your teeth from every angle. When patients have a complex set of treatment challenges like bone health, tooth structure, and jaw function, the i-CAT is the perfect tool for determining the issue and the best plan to correct it.
Our orthodontics office staff are very excited about our next generation i-CAT machine that can do a CT scan of your entire mouth in under 5 seconds. After the scan, the imaging software take less than a minute to crunch all the image scanning information to construct an exact replica of your teeth. From there, we can assess if there are any cysts, abscesses, bone density issues, or wisdom teeth that need our attention. The best part, it’s all done without surgery!
With 3-D imaging developed from i-CAT’s CT-scans, everyone, including our orthodontics office staff and our patients, can see much more. This revolutionary equipment helps Dr. Bright turn oral surgery into oral health SUCCESS on a profoundly consistent basis.
